Cities Across America Ask: Where Are the Jobs?

Families Feel the Pinch as Local Unemployment Rates Climb

Washington – As the Longview area’s staggering unemployment rate reaches 14.2% it is becoming painfully clear that the Democrats’ big-spending agenda has failed to turn the tide of America’s struggling economy. Despite billions of dollars spent and mountains of debt accumulated, it’s apparent that the stimulus package is not so stimulating. With Brian Baird offering his gleeful support for an agenda that only seems to have stimulated higher unemployment numbers, Longview-area taxpayers are still waiting to see a return on their money.

“Everyone but Brian Baird seems to be catching on: The Democrats’ pathetic attempt to stimulate the economy has failed at best,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain.” It is abundantly clear that the so-called stimulus has cost taxpayers over a trillion dollars, with nothing to show for it except for empty pockets. As unemployment continues to climb in the Longview area, middle class families want to know: Where are the jobs?

As Democrats in Washington scramble to defend their outrageous, job-killing agenda, Brian Baird is now being held accountable for marching in lock step with his party bosses. With Baird now under heavy pressure to support the Democrats’ job-killing healthcare takeover, how much longer do Longview area families have to suffer before their Congressman finally catches on?
