NRCC Endorses Adam Kinzinger for the 11th Congressional District of Illinois

U.S. Air Force Officer and Former McLean County Board Member Will Bring a Fresh Perspective to Congress

Washington
– The National Republican Congressional Committee today endorsed U.S. Air Force office and former McLean County Board Member Adam Kinzinger for the 11th Congressional District of Illinois. In a letter to Kinzinger, NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) wrote:

“Even while serving our country abroad, you have proven to be an exceptional candidate with the overwhelming support of Republican leaders and citizens throughout the 11th Congressional District and the state of Illinois.”

Kinzinger has garnered the endorsements of Rep. Aaron Schock, Rep. John Shimkus, and former Rep. Thomas W. Ewing.  He has raised over $112,000 in contributions for his campaign in just six weeks.

At the age of 20, Kinzinger was elected as one of the youngest board members in McLean County history.  A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Kinzinger now serves as a pilot with the Air Force Special Operations Command.  He received the United States Air Force Airman’s Medal in 2007 for saving the life of a young woman who was violently attacked.  As Rep. Sessions wrote in his letter:

“As a member of the McLean County Board, you brought a fresh perspective to county government that is needed in Washington during these challenging times.  Not only that, your heroics in and out of uniform exemplify the courage and leadership that inspire all Americans and gives hope for future generations.”

“Adam Kinzinger’s distinguished record of service to his country and Illinois families is exactly what is needed in Congress,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. “As a proven campaigner, he has what it takes to win this seat.”
