Rangel Wrangles House Ethics Probe

Rep. Charles Rangel got his wish: A House panel voted Wednesday to probe whether the Manhattan Democrat is guilty of the ethical lapses he has been accused of – and, in some cases, has admitted to.
Reps. Gene Green (D-Tex.) and Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) will lead the bipartisan ethics committee investigation.
“That’s exactly what we were hoping for. That’s what [Rangel] was after: an investigation,” said an upbeat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, insisting the news was good. “That’s how you do it.”
