Rangel Should ‘Step Down’ According to Democrat

A high-profile Democratic lawmaker said Rep. Charles Rangel should relinquish the top spot on the House Ways and Means Committee while under investigation for ethical lapses.
“I think it would be helpful if Charles Rangel stepped down, but he’s served the country well. We need his expertise, and I know, whatever happens, he will do right by the country,” Colorado Rep. Mark Udall told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Udall, who is running for Senate, is the first prominent Democrat to urge Rangel to give up his chairmanship – at least temporarily.
