NRCC Targets Dennis Cardoza for His Role in Healthcare Takeover

Whose Interests Will Cardoza Represent – His Constituents’ or Nancy Pelosi’s?

Washington- Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) continued its August media blitz with phone calls targeting California Democrat Dennis Cardoza for being a close ally of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a key player in the Democrats’ plan for government healthcare takeover. The faulty healthcare agenda of Washington Democrats will cut senior citizens’ Medicare benefits, raise taxes on small businesses, explode the deficit, and incentivize companies to drop their good private coverage.
“Concerned California citizens have spent the last month sending a loud and clear signal to Washington that they oppose the Democrats’ government healthcare takeover and now they want to know – is Dennis Cardoza listening?” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Cardoza’s party is pushing for a government-run healthcare agenda that would prove devastating for folks in California and across the country. In case Cardoza has spent the last month under a rock, these targeted phone calls will be a helpful reminder of the political and policy consequences of siding with Nancy Pelosi over the people he is supposed to represent.”

Targeted phone call script:

“Hello, I’m calling from the National Republican Congressional Committee with an important message about health care.  Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Dennis Cardoza are considering a health plan that would raise taxes on small business, explode the deficit and incentivize companies to drop their good private coverage… and they plan to help pay for this by cutting Medicare – cutting it by 500 billion dollars according to President Obama’s own projections.  America’s seniors deserve better!  Congressman Cardoza votes with Nancy Pelosi 98% of the time… Call him today at 202-225-3121 and tell him this time he needs to make a stand for our seniors and vote against the Democrats’ 500 billion dollar Medicare cut. Paid for by The National Republican Congressional Committee and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. 202-479-7000.
