NRCC TV Ad: The Reviews On Earl Pomeroy’s Healthcare Bill Are In and They’re Not Good
Even Democrats Agree: North Dakota Families Can’t Afford Pomeroy’s Big-Spending Agenda
Washington- In a new TV ad blitz that was graciously written by his fellow Democrat colleagues, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is targeting Earl Pomeroy for his destructive and partisan vote for the Democrats’ government-run healthcare plan. After offering his continuous support for the Democrats’ big-spending, big-government agenda, Pomeroy gave his seal of approval for his party’s government takeover of healthcare – and some of his Democrat colleagues were happy to point it out.
“Earl Pomeroy’s support for his party bosses’ reckless spending spree is proof positive that he has completely lost touch with North Dakota middle-class families,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Pomeroy has been in Washington so long that he’s become a fixture in his party’s crusade for excessive spending and more government. With some of his colleagues speaking out against government-run healthcare, why can’t Pomeroy? After voting to pile on billions in new taxes, slash Medicare and kill jobs, it’s clear that North Dakota families simply can’t afford him anymore.”
Pomeroy’s colleagues spoke out and voted against their party’s destructive healthcare takeover. Why couldn’t he?
“First and foremost, I cannot vote for legislation with this big of a price tag in today’s economic climate.” (Rep. Travis Childers Official Web site, Accessed 11/07/09)
“‘The worst thing we could do during a recession is raise taxes, and this bill does just that,’ said Rep. Dan Boren, D-Okla.” (David Lightman and William Douglas, “House Dems push for votes to move health-care bill,” McClatchy Newspapers, 11/07/2009)
“Given the huge federal deficits facing our nation, I believe there is too much new spending in this bill.” (Rep. Chet Edwards Official Web site, Accessed 11/07/09)
“I fear this bill will not reduce long-term costs….” (Bobby Bright Official Website, Accessed 11/07/09)
