Washington- Democrats in Congress revealed their true loyalties tonight as Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the rest of her allies pushed through their government healthcare takeover under the cloak of darkness. By now, it’s no secret that Democrats included over $400 billion in cuts to Medicare in order to pay for their reckless healthcare agenda. But when given the opportunity to restore Medicare funding through medical malpractice reform, Speaker Pelosi’s loyal troops delivered another payback to one of their biggest campaign donors – trial lawyers. “The Democrats’ eagerness to slash seniors’ healthcare benefits in order to protect their political allies is just further proof that their government healthcare takeover has nothing to do with real reform and everything to do with a reckless partisan agenda,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Democrats might enjoy the extra campaign cash they reel in because of this vote, but the sad truth is that seniors are going to see their Medicare cut by hundreds of billions of dollars because Speaker Pelosi and her party did nothing to stop it.”
