New Video Highlights Ciro’s Constituent Strategy: Get Angry, Point and Yell

NRCC Launches Web Video on Ciro Rodriguez’s Disrespectful Constituent Relations

Washington- The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is targeting Ciro Rodriguez in a new web video for the disrespect he displays towards his constituents, despite his touting of 2009 as a year of good constituent relations. In a fundraising email in January, Rodriguez says, “One of the most important things I do as a member of Congress is maintain contact with the people I represent in Washington.” However in the same email, Rodriguez admits, “that kind of outreach can be a challenge…” (Source: Rodriguez E-Newsletter: “Looking Back at 2009,” 1/16/2010)

As evident by the video below, Ciro Rodriguez has decided to face that challenge by belittling, yelling and even cursing directly at his constituents.

“Since Ciro Rodriguez is merely a Pelosi Puppet who votes with his party 97.8 percent of the time, it is no surprise that his constituents want to confront him for ignoring their concerns,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “But there’s absolutely no excuse for Rodriguez’s defensive display of contempt and disrespect toward the people he was elected to represent. Ciro Rodriguez may be touting 2009 as a year of good constituent relations, but unfortunately for him, Texans can see his constituent meetings for what they are – a PR gimmick from a Washington politician who knows his career is in jeopardy.”
