NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions Responds to Brown-Waite Announcement

Washington- National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) issued the following statement in response to an announcement by Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (FL-05) that she will not seek re-election in 2010:

“For seven years, Ginny Brown-Waite has served central Florida with the independence and tenacity that has defined her career in public service.  Whether it was working to increase healthcare access for veterans or lowering the tax burden on middle-class families, Ginny’s constituents could always count on her to stand up for their best interests.”

“If you know anything about Ginny Brown-Waite, it is that she is a fighter, and my prayers are with her.  I am confident that the Republican nominee in this district will emerge victorious in November and follow Ginny’s record of fiscal responsibility and protecting Social Security and Medicare.  I wish Ginny and her family all the best.”
