Code Red Launches TV Ad Against Boccieri and the Rest of The Flip-Flop Five

John Boccieri Flip-Flopped for Obamacare, Now He Will Pay the Price

Washington– The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has begun the next phase of its Code Red offensive, launching TV ads targeting John Boccieri (D-OH) for his help in ramming an unpopular and politically toxic healthcare bill through Congress. Boccieri and the rest of “The Flip Flop Five” each voted ‘NO’ when the House first approved a government healthcare takeover in November 2009.  Then, after the Democrats’ shady backroom deals and heavy arm-twisting, Boccieri turned his back on Northeastern Ohioans and caved to immense pressure from Speaker Pelosi. Rather than listening to his constituents at home, John Boccieri listened to his party bosses in Washington and fell for the Democrats’ big-spending ways by ultimately casting one of the deciding ‘YES’ votes for Obamacare.

“John Boccieri put party loyalty ahead of Northeastern Ohioans when he flip-flopped on Obamacare and delivered one of the decisive votes in favor of his party’s healthcare takeover,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “By rubber-stamping hundreds of billions of dollars in unprecedented government spending, massive tax increases, and Medicare cuts, John Boccieri has put his job on the line. Spring may be here but, unfortunately for Boccieri, flip-flops don’t seem to be in style this year.”

Transcript: Some flip-flops are elegant… carefree… even beautiful. But one flip-flop was just disgusting. Take John Boccieri. He voted against Obamacare in November. But then he flipped… and flopped. Boccieri cast a decisive vote in favor of Obamacare – massive tax increases… cuts to Medicare… bigger government. That’s a big flip. And he’s a big flop. Log on to gopcodered.com.
