Rangel Called to Step Down by Washington Post

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) should resign his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee, the Washington Post said today.

In a sharply worded editorial, the paper said Rangel’s failure to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars in assets violates the trust with which a chairman is entrusted.

“From all that we’ve seen thus far, Mr. Rangel has violated that trust continually and seemingly without care,” the editors wrote.
