Fincher to report more than $850K in 3rd quarter
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Congressional candidate Stephen Fincher’s campaign says the Republican raised more than $850,000 in the most recent campaign finance reporting period.
Fincher, a Crockett County farmer, is vying for the 8th District seat that is being vacated by Democratic Rep. John Tanner after 11 terms in office.
State Sen. Roy Herron of Dresden is the Democratic nominee in the race. His campaign did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Herron camp has questioned the Fincher campaign’s finances after the Republican loaned his effort $250,000 in the primary, but listed no major assets in his congressional disclosures.
Fincher spokesman Paul Ciaramitaro said all the third quarter contributions came from outside sources.
