Hanna Highlights Utica College’s New Masters Program
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) – Congressional candidate Richard Hanna and Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon stopped at Utica College Tuesday to tour the economic crime and justice studies building.
With less than a month until election day, the race in the 24th Congressional District is heating up, and Hanna wants voters to know he’s proud to brag about U.C.’s new masters program in cyber security.
California Congressman Howard McKeon showed his support for Richard Hanna by walking through the halls of Utica College’s Economic Crime and Justice Studies building, the private tour was restricted to a small number of people, the media not included.
McKeon is the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee which oversees national security policy, military resources, and even some military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
U.C. is the only school in the nation offering a masters degree in Cyber Security.
Richard Hanna says that it’s programs like the one at U.C. that prepare tomorrows’ leaders to protect the country — and that’s good news for students and the economy.
“You leave this place you’ve got a job there is a shortage of people in cyber security so a facility like this has both an opportunity and an obligation to graduate quality students and those students virtually find a job when they leave here 100% of the time so that’s a wonderful record,” Hanna said.
The masters degree at U.C. is specialized in two areas: cybersecurity and computer forensics.
