Democrat Earl Pomeroy (ND-AL) Officially 'Undecided'

March 9, 2010

Pomeroy was a “yes” on the House bill, but now is official “undecided” after once being opposed to the Senate bill.
From GrandForksHerald.com: Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., said Monday he’s still undecided on supporting federal health care reform and won’t know how he will vote until the final bill is brought to lawmakers.  He told the Herald the reform’s details are still being finalized by President Barack Obama and White House officials. But it was a “positive step” when they added some Republican ideas to the bill last week, Pomeroy said.  “I have favored at this point in time a smaller package more capable of getting bipartisan support,’ he said. ‘It looks like they’re making an effort to put in Republican ideas, but I’m not sure that the package is smaller or will be any more capable of getting bipartisan support.”  When asked if he would support the bill if it wasn’t a smaller version but could gain more Republican support, Pomeroy said he wasn’t going to “go into hypotheticals.”  “We’re within days of really seeing I think what will be presented to the Congress, and at that point in time, I’ll be coming to a final conclusion,” Pomeroy said.
