House passes a 3-week stopgap spending bill

The House of Representatives passed the second stopgap spending measure this month, funding the government for three more weeks while cutting $6 billion. … Congress cut $4 billion in the last short-term spending bill, which expires midnight Friday. Tuesday’s measure would extend that to April 8. The short-term spending bills are necessary because the Senate voted down a House-passed plan to fund the government through September, but with $60 billion in cuts.
