NRCC Calls to Constituents Highlight McIntyre’s Plan to Cut Medicare
North Carolina Dem Supports Benefit Cuts, Endangers Seniors’ Access to Healthcare

Washington —The National Republican Congressional Committee today is releasing automated calls that underscore Mike McIntyre’s support for the Democrat plan that lets Medicare go bankrupt, forcing massive cuts in benefits or higher taxes. As McIntyre’s constituents continue to call for responsible spending and less debt, it seems highly irresponsible for him to support such a dangerous plan with disastrous consequences for middle class families and seniors.

“By letting Medicare go bankrupt, Mike McIntyre’s plan would neglect seniors’ healthcare and lead to massive benefit cuts,” NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay said. “McIntyre should be taking a stand for seniors, but instead he’s throwing his support behind a plan to let unelected bureaucrats interfere with doctors and threaten seniors’ benefits. It’s further proof that Mike McIntyre doesn’t stand for his constituents—he stands for big government plans that cut benefits and jeopardize Medicare.”

The script is as follows:

“Hello. I’m calling from the National Republican Congressional Committee about your Congressman Mike McIntyre’s plan for Medicare. McIntyre and President Obama’s plan threatens to deny treatment for seniors in Medicare by allowing bureaucrats to interfere with their doctors. Worse, McIntyre would let Medicare go bankrupt – that’d mean big cuts to benefits. Call Congressman McIntyre at 202-225-2731 and tell him to stop endangering Medicare. Paid for by the National Republican Congressional Committee. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. 202-479-7000.”
