Chairman Sessions Statement on Mike Pence’s Announcement

Washington, DC – National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (TX-32) today released the following statement in response to the announcement of Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) that he will run for Governor of Indiana in 2012:

“In Congress, Mike Pence has been a stalwart conservative, a principled leader for the Republican Conference and a dedicated public servant for the people of Indiana. For over 10 years, Indiana families have benefited from Mike’s steadfast commitment to advancing conservative policies for smaller government that respects enduring values. Mike has been a true friend to me and to our colleagues in the House of Representatives, and his clarity of vision and faithful counsel will be missed.

“I am confident that the people of Indiana’s 6th District will choose a new conservative Republican who will continue to represent in Congress their values for fiscal responsibility and individual liberty. I wish Mike, his wife Karen and their children all the best as they begin a new journey to serve all the people of Indiana.”
