Loebsack’s Anti-Growth Voting Record Won’t be Forgotten Iowa Democrat Loyally Supported Party Leaders’ Unpopular, Job-Crushing Agenda During Their Domination of Washington Washington — It seems that Dave Loebsack and his fellow Democrats are trying hard to avoid accountability for their job-destroying agenda in Washington. However, Loebsack’s constituents in Iowa won’t forget he loyally supported President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s job-destroying agenda which has stifled job creation and seen the economy take a turn for the worse. “Dave Loebsack and his fellow Democrats now seem to be blaming everyone but themselves for their own job-destroying agenda that they forced through a Washington completely under their control,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “As middle-class families and small businesses in Iowa struggle with the consequences of the Democrats’ failed policies, Loebsack will have a difficult time avoiding accountability for his own record of loyal support.” House Democrats are insisting that the consequences of their failed policies are “not something they can necessarily control”: “Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) slammed President Obama’s promise that the stimulus package would deliver lower unemployment rates as ‘the stupidest thing that basically any administration probably ever said’ in an interview Wednesday with WFPL News.
“‘I think if you asked them now they will say that was the stupidest thing that basically any administration probably ever said because that’s not something they can necessarily control,’ Yarmuth said. “Yarmuth said that while the stimulus plan has worked, the president has been unable to market that success.” (Justin Sink, “Dem lawmaker: Obama’s ‘stupidest thing’ was promising more job growth,” The Hill‘s Blog Briefing Room Blog, 8/25/11)And yet while in full control of Washington, Dave Loebsack was a loyal ally to the job-destroying Pelosi agenda, voting for the government takeover of healthcare (Roll Call #165, 3/21/10), the national energy tax (Roll Call #477, 6/26/09) and the failed $800 billion stimulus (Roll Call #70, 2/13/09). Dave Loebsack and his Democrat colleagues championed an anti-growth agenda while in complete control of Washington, but now they deny any “control” over the consequences of their failed policies. Middle-class families in Iowa know better, and will certainly hold Loebsack accountable for his job-destroying policies that are making a bad economy worse.
