Obama & Shuler’s Failed Policies Cast a Dark Cloud Over the Economy
North Carolina Democrat’s Economic Policies Hit Highest Levels of Unpopularity for Making a Bad Economy Worse

Washington — A dark cloud continues to loom over the struggling economy as Heath Shuler’s failed Democrat policies become even more unpopular with middle-class families looking for job creation. As Shuler and President Obama continue to demand more taxes, spending, borrowing and over-regulating, the signs suggest these continued policies from Washington are making the economy worse rather than better.

“It’s clearer than ever that Heath Shuler’s Democrat policies have failed and continue to cast a dark cloud over the bad economy which still threatens to take a turn for the worst,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Shuler’s desire to double down on more taxes, spending and red tape will simply make matters worse for middle-class families and small businesses in North Carolina looking for real pro-growth policies.”

Experts have been increasingly concerned about the state of the economy in the wake of the Washington Democrats’ failed policies:

“Moody’s Analytics on Monday lowered its outlook for growth in the U.S. economy this year and next, saying it sees ‘significantly weaker’ prospects for the economy than just a month ago as the country struggles to avoid another recession.

“‘The odds of a renewed recession over the next 12 months, already one in three, will increase if stock prices continue to fall,’ Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Analytics, says in the report. He said the economy must grow 2.5 percent to 3 percent a year to add jobs fast enough to keep the unemployment rate stable — something that won’t happen soon.” (“Moodys lowers US economic outlook through 2012,” Associated Press, 8/15/11)

Not surprisingly, public approval of the Washington Democrats’ economic policies has hit new lows:

“A new low of 26% of Americans approve of President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy, down 11 percentage points since Gallup last measured it in mid-May and well below his previous low of 35% in November 2010.” (Lydia Saad, “New Low of 26% Approve of Obama on the Economy,” Gallup, 8/17/11)
It’s also an increasingly bad sign for Heath Shuler that President Obama’s approval rating in North Carolina is at 46.0%, with 50.0% disapproving. (PPP Poll, 8/7/11)

Heath Shuler and his fellow Washington Democrats continue to push their same failed policies that cast a dark cloud over the struggling economy. However, despite record levels of public disapproval, Shuler and Obama seem undeterred and unwilling to listen to the North Carolina families demanding a change to pro-growth policies that will lift the burden placed on job creators in America.
