Unemployment Continues to Plague the North Carolina Economy as McIntyre’s Partisan Agenda Fails to Inspire Growth
Stagnation, Not Advancement Has Become the Hallmark of McIntyre’s Economic Policies

Washington — With the news that unemployment in October remained sky high at X.X percent, it remains obvious that Mike McIntyre has failed to encourage economic growth in North Carolina. Middle-class families and small businesses have watched Mike McIntyre’s hyper regulatory, job-crushing political agenda destroy any chance of getting the North Carolina economy back on track.

“The October unemployment numbers are a reminder that President Obama and his fellow Washington Democrat Mike McIntyre are not interested in creating an environment for growth,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “North Carolina families aren’t buying McIntyre’s empty rhetoric promising economic growth when they have consistently received no answer to the question: where are the jobs?”

To reinforce how Democrats’ failed political agenda is ruining any opportunity for the economy to improve, today also brings the announcement of a less-than-stellar GDP growth rate that condemns future growth predictions:

“Futures edged lower Tuesday following a lower-than-expected GDP figure and following the previous session’s sharp sell off.

“The U.S. economy grew at a slightly slower pace than previously estimated in the third quarter, but weak inventory accumulation amid sturdy consumer spending strengthened views output would pick up in the current quarter.

“Gross domestic product grew at a 2.0 percent annual rate in the third quarter, the Commerce Department said in its second estimate on Tuesday, down from the previously estimated 2.5 percent.” (“Futures Turn Lower After GDP Report,” Reuters, 11/22/2011)

The North Carolina economy is in dire straits now thanks to Mike McIntyre refusing to recognize the urgency with which struggling families in North Carolina can’t wait any longer for job growth. North Carolinians recognize that McIntyre does not have their best interest in mind as his job-destroying agenda continues to stand in the way of job growth.
