Testimony Places Tierney at “Lavish” HQ of Family’s Illegal Caribbean Gambling Operation
Tierney Previously Claimed He Knew Nothing of His Wife’s Involvement in Her Brothers’ Racketeering, Illegal Gambling and Money Laundering Operation
SPIN CYCLE: Then-Speaker Pelosi Promised that Democrats Would “Demand the Highest Ethics from Every Public Servant”:

“Our goal is to restore accountability, honesty and openness at all levels of government. To do so, we will create and enforce rules that demand the highest ethics from every public servant, sever unethical ties between lawmakers and lobbyists, and establish clear standards that prevent the trading of official business for gifts.” (Nancy Pelosi’s “A New Direction for America,” Page 21)

RINSE CYCLE: John Tierney claimed he knew nothing about his wife’s involvement in her brother’s “racketeering, illegal gambling and money laundering” at the time of the trail but was recently seen enjoying a night dining at the scene of the crime:

“U.S. Rep. John Tierney and his wife, Patrice, dined at the lavish Antigua offices of a gambling enterprise federal prosecutors say was run by her indicted brothers, Robert and Daniel Eremian, a former lover and gal Friday of Sports Off Shore’s manager testified yesterday.

“John Tierney has claimed ignorance of his wife’s involvement in filing false tax returns on illegal gambling income for her fugitive brother, Robert Eremian, who is accused of running the multimillion-dollar betting operation.

“Linda Richardson, 60, a Gloucester mom granted immunity for her testimony, told jurors at U.S. District Court in Boston that she saw the congressman and his wife visiting the gaming headquarters on an unspecified date. Richardson, an ex-girlfriend of Richard Sullivan, the fugitive authorities claim managed Sports Off Shore, testified there was no mistaking what went on there.”

“’There (were) big televisions. There were computers and people on phones. There was never a time when there wasn’t a football game (on),’ said Richardson, who collected gambling debts for Sullivan.

“She was testifying in the trial of Tierney in-law Daniel Eremian, 61, a Florida restaurateur charged with racketeering, illegal gambling and money laundering.”

“Robert Eremian, 59, pleaded guilty in Boston’s U.S. District Court in 2002 to attempting to cheat the Internal Revenue Service out of more than $58,400 in taxes dating back to the 1990s. He was placed on two years of probation and allowed by Judge Joseph L. Tauro to return to Antigua, where Eremian claimed he was working as a software consultant, but where he now remains, protected from extradition.

“When Patrice Tierney, 60, pleaded guilty last year to helping Robert Eremian file false tax returns through her role as manager of his multimillion-dollar bank account — and was sentenced to a month in prison — John Tierney said in a statement she was ‘deceived’ by her brother and ‘should have done more to personally investigate the true nature of (his) business activities.’

“On Monday, the jury heard from a Hull bookie how the now-defunct Internet operation — alleged to have illegally taken $22 million from Bay State bettors placing money on everything from Super Bowl outcomes to how often someone repeated a word on television — also enjoyed private helicopter service. Richardson told the jury yesterday, ‘They had a wonderful cook.’” (Laurel J. Sweet, “Witness: Tierneys dined at gaming offices,” Boston Herald, 11/9/2011)
