Farmers Sue Disgraced DCCC Donor Corzine While Matheson Still Quietly Benefits
Utah “Frontline” Democrat Ignores DCCC’s Tainted Cash as Thousands of American Families and Farmers Sue Corzine for Their Missing Money Washington — The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) disgraced fundraiser Jon Corzine continues to attract controversy since he is now the target of a class action lawsuit from farmers alleging that he raided their investment funds to make failed risky bets on Wall Street. Despite the continuing accusations of potentially illegal Wall Street gambling Corzine conducted at the expense of American families and farmers, Jim Matheson has refused to call on his Democrat leaders to return the tainted cash they are using to directly support his reelection. “It is outrageous that Jim Matheson continues to quietly benefit from the DCCC’s tainted Corzine cash after he gambled away billions of dollars from thousands of American families and farmers with reckless and potentially illegal Wall Street bets,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Every passing day that Matheson ignores the DCCC’s scandal stained money while benefitting from it demonstrates that he puts his reelection efforts before standing up for American families and farmers.” The DCCC has taken $130,000 from Jon Corzine. (CQMoneyLine, accessed 11/03/11) Thousands of farmers are filing a class-action lawsuit against Corzine, claiming he illegally raided their investments to make risky bets on Wall Street, which he ultimately lost: “Montana farmers have filed a class action suit against former New Jersey governor Jon Corzine, charging that the failed financial firm run by Corzine stole millions from their accounts to pay off its spiraling debts, and that Corzine’s ‘single-minded obsession’ with making MF Global a big player on Wall Street led to the firm’s collapse.”
“The lawsuit, filed on behalf of all 38,000 customers, alleges that when MF Global made a series of bad investments — notably in European debt — it began ‘siphoning funds withdrawn from segregated client accounts’ to cover its debts.” (Cindy Galli, “Farmers Sue Jon Corzine Over Missing Millions,” ABC News’ The Blotter Blog, 1/9/12)“Frontline” Democrat Jim Matheson has stayed completely silent on the DCCC’s Corzine cash despite the continuing revelations about how their disgraced donor actually made his money with risky Wall Street gambling. The longer Matheson ignores this problem, the more he demonstrates he is unwilling to put American farmers and families first.
