McIntyre Budget Vote Protects ObamaCare, Preserves Tax Loopholes, and Continues Reckless Washington Spending
North Carolina Democrat Opposes Fiscal Plan that Would Finally Rein in Washington’s Perpetual Spending and Borrowing Spree

WASHINGTON — Instead of finally supporting efforts to have the government live within its means, Mike McIntyre again voted to protect his Democrat taxing, spending and borrowing spree (Roll Call #151, 3/29/12). Rather than eliminating long-abused tax loopholes in order to lower overall rates and create jobs, McIntyre voted to keep taxing, spending and to continue the Democrat government takeover of healthcare.

“Mike McIntyre has chosen this election year to campaign on continuing his Democrat taxing, spending and borrowing spree that has made a bad economy worse,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “With McIntyre’s budget vote, he indicated that he would rather save the Democrats’ government takeover of healthcare than eliminate tax loopholes in order to lower tax rates and create jobs. Despite the rebuke they received from voters in 2010, it’s obvious that McIntyre and his party still don’t get it.”

This budget plan would have eliminated tax loopholes in order to lower rates for all Americans and foster job creation:

“On taxes, the measure calls for eliminating a host of tax deductions and credits in order to produce a far simpler income tax code with just two rates for individuals: 10 percent and 25 percent.” (“House GOP unveils budget blueprint,” Associated Press, 3/20/12)

It would recognize strong voter disapproval of the government takeover of healthcare and call for a repeal of the deeply-flawed law:

“The GOP plan also has a non-binding call to repeal the president’s health care law.” (“House Charges Ahead With Budget Plan,” Associated Press, 3/22/12)
