As Support for ObamaCare Crumbles, Does Bustos Back the Dem HealthCare Takeover Backup Plan?
Democrats’ Plan B Would Force Even More Families onto Government Healthcare

WASHINGTON — Cheri Bustos’ party has watched their big-government takeover of healthcare crush small business growth, increase costs and cut $500 billion from Medicare. With a decision from the Supreme Court pending, Bustos’ party is offering yet another plan to impose more government-controlled healthcare on families, businesses and seniors.

“Illinois families don’t want to surrender control over their own healthcare plans to government bureaucrats empowered to make decisions best left between them and their doctors,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “But Cheri Bustos’ party isn’t listening as they continue pushing for government intrusion and the monumental price tag that comes with it. Will Cheri Bustos fight for government’s power over healthcare decisions or for the freedom of Illinois families and seniors to make their own choices?”

A new plan introduced by Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) will build on Democrats’ healthcare overhaul, thus adding billions more in taxpayer funded government spending:

“Kinsey Kiriakos, a spokesman for McDermott, said by email that the bill is intended to advance the goals of President Obama’s healthcare reform law, which would extend coverage to about 30 million of the 50 million people nationwide without insurance.” (David Lazarus, “Legislation May Enable States to Offer Universal Healthcare,” Los Angeles Times, 5/25/2012)
