Dems’ Keystone Rejection “Has Little Rational Basis”
Washington Post Editorial a Reminder That Blocking Keystone Will Only Send Jobs and Energy to Foreign Countries

Democrats Have Continuously Claimed They Have Championed An “All Of The Above” Energy Policy In Washington:

“President Obama on Wednesday proposed sweetened tax incentives and subsidies to spur the market for alternative-power cars and trucks, promoting his ‘all of the above’ energy strategy while warning against other politicians’ ‘quick fixes’ to the latest spike in gasoline prices.” (Jackie Calmes, “President Pushes to Add More Credits for Hybrids,” The New York Times, 3/8/12)

But Their Rejection Of The Keystone XL Pipeline Is A Stark Reminder That The Concerns Of Anti-Energy Activist Donors Are More Important That Job Creation And Energy Independence:

“The case for ultimately approving the Keystone XL pipeline — always strong — has grown stronger… Even if environmentalists manage to stop one pipeline or another, given high world oil prices, the enthusiastic support of the Canadian government, the many transport options and the years available to develop infrastructure, it’s beyond quixotic to believe that enough of the affordable paths out will be blocked. Environmentalists might succeed, however, in relocating some construction jobs outside the United States. So President Obama’s refusal so far to authorize Keystone XL has little rational basis.” (Editorial, “A better case for Keystone XL,” The Washington Post, 5/2/12)
