Michaud Helps Obama Cover Up the Fast and Furious Scandal
Maine Dem Proves Hypocrisy By Refusing to Hold Holder Accountable for Reckless Gun-Tracking Operation

WASHINGTON — Almost two years ago President Obama’s Administration approved Operation Fast and Furious which ended up sending weapons to Mexican drug cartels that were responsible for killing innocent people on both sides of the border, including U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Even though Mike Michaud voted to hold Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton in contempt in 2008, today he decided to hide the truth behind the Obama Administration’s involvement in Fast and Furious (Roll Call #711).

“Lives have been lost due to Michaud’s Democrat leader’s reckless gun-trafficking operation to Mexican drug cartels,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “President Obama invoking executive privilege is further evidence that he and Eric Holder have something to hide, and Mike Michaud is helping them stonewall. Michaud’s constituents deserve to know the truth, and the family of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry deserve justice.”

Mike Michaud voted to hold Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton in contempt in 2008 (Roll Call #60).

The Obama Administration used taxpayer dollars to fund the purchase of thousands of guns and then sold them to narcoterrorists:

“Not only did U.S. officials approve, allow and assist in the sale of more than 2,000 guns to the Sinaloa cartel — the federal government used taxpayer money to buy semi-automatic weapons, sold them to criminals and then watched as the guns disappeared.” (William La Jeunesse, “U.S. Government Used Taxpayer Funds to Buy, Sell Weapons During ‘Fast and Furious,’ Documents Show,” Fox News, 9/26/2011)
