Garamendi’s Healthcare Takeover Set to Help Raise Californians’ Taxes by Almost $62 Billion in 2013
A New Report Shows that Five New Tax Hikes Will Begin Next Year Thanks to ObamaCare

WASHINGTON — John Garamendi’s massive government takeover of healthcare has helped to ensure a future of imploding debt, higher healthcare costs and $500 billion in Medicare cuts for California seniors. A recent report highlights how ObamaCare is certain to burden California’s working families and contribute to roughly $62 billion in tax hikes that will go into effect under Garamendi’s party’s watch.

“The economy is still very frail but John Garamendi has refused to stop piling more crippling taxes on Californians,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “With time running out until the new ObamaCare tax hikes go into effect, will Garamendi finally decide to reflect his constituents’ sentiments and stop ObamaCare before it prevents even more small businesses from hiring?”

If John Garamendi allows ObamaCare to go into effect along with other 2013 tax hikes, the average tax increase for Californians will be $3,525 per tax return and a total of $61.85 billion for the entire state beginning in 2012. (“The Effects of Taxmadeggon,” The Heritage Foundation, June 2012)
