Weekend Update From Chairman Sessions

October 18, 2010

Dear Friend,

Only two weeks remain until voters go to the polls to pass judgment on the failed Pelosi-Obama agenda and as we approach Election Day, the environment continues to deteriorate for Democrats across the country.

This morning, Politico recapped the worsening environment for Democrats. In addition to the Politico article, The Washington Post highlights the strong fundraising quarters for Republican challengers across the country. Not only have Republicans surged in fundraising, but new races continue to emerge all over the map.

In fact, it’s gotten so bad for Democrats, the DCCC has been forced to buy TV ads in House Progressive Caucus Co-Chair, Raul Grijalva’s seat as he continues to sink in the polls.

Additionally, because of your generous support the NRCC aired 41 ads over the weekend and for the seventh straight week outspent the DCCC. Don’t be fooled, the Democrats have vowed to spend $40 million dollars in the final two weeks on false, negative attack ads and we continue to need, and appreciate, your support to counteract their media blitz.

We are on the goal line but continue to need your support to help reach the end zone. When we began this journey in January of 2009, we said our goal was to retire Nancy Pelosi. No one, but us, believed we could achieve such a lofty goal. Yet, here we are with political handicappers and Democrats predicting victory in the final days of the campaign.

We cannot let up, and must continue to sprint through the finish line. On November 2nd you have the chance to drastically change the course of this country, don’t miss your opportunity to be part of history.

Sincerely,

Pete Sessions
NRCC Chairman
