McMahon Confirms ‘NO’

Threats From Big Labor, Strong GOP Challengers Complicate McMahon Reelection:

“Taking a health care head count last night, in hopes of flipping a few ‘nays’ to ‘yeas,’ the White House called an unrelenting Rep. Michael McMahon to see if he was still planning to vote no today.  The answer: Absolutely…The Obama administration won’t get it from the Democrat from Staten Island…Labor and the Working Families Party has threatened to buck McMahon come the fall election, and put up a progressive third-party candidate that could pull Democratic votes from him…..McMahon has no plans to make remarks or enter into today’s floor debate before he casts his ‘no’ vote, his office said.” (Judy L. Randall, “Rep. Bart Stupak switches to ‘yes’ on health care, Staten Island’s McMahon still a ‘no,’” Staten Island Advance, 03/21/10)
