Gutting Medicare Paid for ‘One Third’ of Owens’ Healthcare Takeover
Job-Destroying Tax Hikes and Medicare Slashes Are Funding ObamaCare
WASHINGTON — New York seniors had no idea that their access to Medicare would be threatened when they need it most. However, this is exactly what President Obama allowed to happen when he and Bill Owens passed their big-government takeover of healthcare – that it would be funded by slashing Medicare and raising taxes on job creators.
“New York seniors and working families are under attack from every direction thanks to Bill Owens’ failed agenda,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “If Owens isn’t going to look out for seniors’ Medicare or the economic stability of small businesses then he can be sure that they aren’t going to look out for him come November.”
Even President Obama admitted that one third of his disastrous big-government healthcare overhaul was paid for by cuts to seniors’ Medicare:
