Nevadans on Food Stamps Increases 21%, Marshall Mismanages Economy
According to the Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, the number of food stamp recipients in Nevada has increased by 21 percent so far this year.
“The 21 percent jump follows a 47 percent increase in 2009 and a 27 percent increase in 2010.” (Cy Ryan, “Number of Nevadans on food stamps jumps 21 percent,” Las Vegas Sun, 6/20/2011)
Treasurer Kate Marshall, who has served as Nevada’s Chief Financial Officer since 2007, has overseen a massive increase in unemployment and home foreclosures. Marshall even lost $50 million of taxpayer money on a Wall Street gamble that could have been prevented.
Please consider the following comment from the NRCC as you follow Marshall’s mismanagement of Nevada’s economy as state treasurer.
“Kate Marshall’s gross mismanagement of Nevada’s economy has led to record job loss and a housing crisis. Hundreds of thousands of Nevadans are already on food stamps and it will only get worse if Kate Marshall is elected to Congress.” – Tyler Q. Houlton, NRCC Spokesman
