Remembering David Loebsack’s Failed Spending Policies

December 15, 2011

Good Afternoon –

On the eve of the stimulus anniversary, I thought you would be interested in taking a look back at David Loebsack’s rhetoric on the failed spending plan versus the economic reality.

Rhetoric
David Loebsack: “This $58.7 million in funding will go into the district and help Iowans directly.

“Most importantly, this funding will save and create jobs at a time when Iowa is losing 170 jobs a day.”

(Press Release, “Loebsack Statement On The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act,” Office of Congressman Dave Loebsack, Feb. 13, 2009)

Reality
Since the stimulus passed:

Iowa’s unemployment rate has increased
from 5.3% to 6.3%.(Bureau of Labor Statistics)

15,112 jobs have been lost. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

NRCC Comment: “Unfortunately Iowa’s working families have seen nothing but ballooning deficits and mountains of debt come from the spending plan David Loebsack voted for. Loebsack failed to deliver the results once promised to middle-class families.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek
