Chandler: “I have supported the president right along.”
Chandler: "I have supported the president right along."
What a week for Ben Chandler. On Tuesday, 6th District Democrats put Chandler on notice that they’ve had enough of President Obama and the destructive economic policies that Chandler has time and time again supported. Thursday’s Lexington Herald-Leader laid out why the election results could mean Chandler is in serious trouble this fall. Amazingly, in the face of a massive rebuke by 6th District Democrats – Chandler has doubled down on his support for Obama.
In an interview with WTVQ this week Chandler said of Obama, “I have supported the president right along.”
As you cover Ben Chandler’s support for President Obama’s job destroying tax-and-spend agenda, consider the following quote:
NRCC Comment: “Talk about a slap in the face to voters. Democrats resoundingly rejected the president’s agenda that is eroding Kentucky’s economy and Ben Chandler just doubled down as Obama’s rubber-stamp in the Bluegrass State.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
HE SAID IT – CHANDLER DOUBLES DOWN ON SUPPORT FOR OBAMA:
THEN: Chandler: “Barack Obama, I know will provide the steady hand and leadership we need to move us forward.”
NOW: Chandler: “I have supported the president right along.”
BEN CHANDLER AND OBAMA – LOCK STEP:
- Chandler opposed repeal of ObamaCare and the $500 billion it cuts from Medicare.
- Chandler supported Obama’s failed stimulus that recklessly spent a trillion dollars of taxpayer money.
- Chandler supported Obama’s cap-and-trade energy tax.
