Louise Slaughter – Fundraisers over Casting Votes

June 25, 2012

As we head into the weekend – consider the following question: What is Louise Slaughter’s priority – saving her own political career or fulfilling her duty to represent Western New York in Congress?

Since her accident in New York City on April 3rd, Slaughter has not cast a single vote in Congress, yet she’s made it a priority to hold campaign fundraisers, raise more than $240,000 in campaign contributions, and attack her political opponent on issues entirely unrelated to her job as a Congresswoman.

Add this to her track record of having, “one of the worst voting records in the House last year” – and you’ve got to wonder, what is Louise Slaughter’s priority?

NRCC Comment: “Louise Slaughter is playing politics by putting her campaign before her sworn duty to represent her constituents in Congress. Monroe County voters want a representative who will fulfill their most basic duty as a Member of Congress – and vote, not someone who puts partisan politics and fundraising first.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
