Obama Aides Admit Shuler’s Job-Destroying Democrat Policies are “Indefensible”
White House Chief of Staff Admits to Angry Job Creators That Dem Wave of Red Tape is “Indefensible”

Washington — A rare attempt by Heath Shuler’s Democrat leaders to actually reach out to job creators predictably resulted in harsh criticism of their failed job-destroying policies. The criticism for the regulatory spree that Shuler and his fellow Democrats have championed became so pointed, that President Obama’s exasperated Chief of Staff conceded their own policies were “indefensible” for their job-crushing effects.

“Since his party leaders are unable to do so, perhaps Heath Shuler can explain why he continues to advance his Democrat government regulation binge that crushes job creation when North Carolina families and small businesses need help most,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Shuler’s constituents and job creators in North Carolina both know that the wave of bureaucratic red tape he and his fellow Democrats continue to champion is truly ‘indefensible’ as it continues to undermine recovery and make a bad economy even worse.”

President Obama’s Chief of Staff, William Daley, received angry complaints from a group of job creators they were attempting to reach out to after years of piling on job-crushing bureaucratic red tape:

“At one point, the room erupted in applause when Massachusetts utility executive Doug Starrett, his voice shaking with emotion, accused the administration of blocking construction on one of his facilities to protect fish, saying government ‘throws sand into the gears of progress.’

“Daley said he did not have many good answers, appearing to throw up his hands in frustration at what he called ‘bureaucratic stuff that’s hard to defend.’ ‘Sometimes you can’t defend the indefensible,’ he said.” (Peter Wallsten and and Jia Lynn Yang, “White House’s Daley seeks balance in outreach meeting with manufacturers,” The Washington Post, 6/16/11)

Although Shuler and his fellow Democrats continue to advance their spree of red tape and job-crushing regulation, even his party leaders are forced to admit these policies are “indefensible” when confronted by angry job creators and small businesses. It seems that Shuler himself will have to explain why he and his Democrat colleagues continue to champion these job-destroying policies when North Carolina’s middle-class families need economic recovery most.
