It’s Always Sunny: Matheson & Obama to “Double Down” on Solyndra Fiasco
Utah Democrat’s Party Leaders Remain Oblivious to the Failure of Their Stimulus Policies that Wasted $535 Million on the Now-Bankrupt Solyndra

Washington — Jim Matheson and his Democrat leaders continue to remain unrepentant for wasting nearly a trillion dollars on their stimulus scheme, and they are now vowing to “double down” on these failed policies. Rather than learn from their stimulus mistake, President Obama and Jim Matheson are embracing the Solyndra debacle that wasted $535 million of taxpayer money and promising to gamble more taxpayer dollars away.

“Jim Matheson and his Democrat leaders in Washington seem to be the only ones who believe gambling $535 million of taxpayer money away on Solyndra was a good idea that needs to be repeated,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Hard-working taxpayers in Utah have already given Matheson’s Democrat agenda three years and it has clearly failed to get America back to work.”

President Obama’s first reelection ad plays defense on the Solyndra bankruptcy:

“Of all President Obama’s vulnerabilities (Isn’t this race supposed to be about the economy?), Team Obama chose to attack Solyndra right out of the gate, placing Obama, literally, in a sea of solar panels, amid quotes proclaiming him to be cleaner than clean — wallowing in the future.” (Glenn Thrush, “Decoding Obama’s first ad: S-O-L-Y-N-D-R-A,” Politico‘s 44 Blog, 1/19/12)

And Democrats are actively embracing the policies that squandered taxpayer money on Solyndra:

“Despite the huge black eye the administration got on a half-billion-dollar taxpayer loss on the bankrupt Fremont solar manufacturer Solyndra, now a household word defined as ‘failed industrial policy,’ Obama will be promising more investments in green energy as part of his ‘built to last’ theme of home-grown manufacturing jobs.” (Carolyn Lochhead, “Obama to double down on green energy tonight despite Solyndra,” San Francisco Chronicle, 1/24/12)

President Obama actually promised to “double down” on playing venture capitalist with more taxpayer money:

“Some technologies don’t pan out; some companies fail. But I will not walk away from the promise of clean energy. … It’s time to end the taxpayer giveaways to an industry that rarely has been more profitable and double down on a clean energy industry that never has been more promising.” (President Barack Obama, 2012 State of the Union Address, 1/24/12)

Jim Matheson’s stimulus continues to prove it was not worth wasting $800 billion in taxpayer money, but he and his fellow Washington Democrats are stuck defending their failed policies. Matheson truly demonstrates how out of touch he is with taxpayers in Utah when he promises to spend more of their hard-earned money on more Solyndras.
