Democrat-Supported EPA Regulations Crush Energy Production and Will Destroy Ohio Jobs

WASHINGTON — Even with unemployment above 8 percent for 43 consecutive months, Betty Sutton voted to keep job-killing EPA regulations, dooming any hopes for American energy independence (Roll Call #603, 9/21/2012). A new study proves that Sutton’s EPA regulations will force 30 coal plants in Ohio alone to shut down within the next several years.

“Betty Sutton and her party claim they champion an all-the-above energy policy, but in their case ‘all-the-above’ means opposing any energy that is produced below ground,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “These hyper-regulatory energy policies are suffocating American energy production and killing jobs.  The closing of 30 coal-fired plants in Ohio alone is further proof that the Democrats’ war on energy is destroying American jobs.”
