No, Sutton’s Unelected Board of Bureaucrats in Charge of Seniors’ Medicare Choices Isn’t “A Bunch of Stuff”

Seniors that Rely on Medicare Will See their Health Decisions Taken Away from Them Under Sutton’s Government Healthcare Takeover

WASHINGTON — During the vice presidential debate last night, sitting-Vice President Joe Biden’s feeble defense for his party’s biggest policy failures was “that’s a bunch of stuff” and “malarkey.” However, Betty Sutton has no excuse for the fact that she voted for an unelected, unaccountable board of Washington bureaucrats to remain in charge of seniors’ healthcare choices under ObamaCare (Roll Call #126, 3/22/12).

“Due to her government takeover of healthcare, Sutton won’t be able to write off that her vote would put 15 bureaucrats in charge of 50 million seniors’ healthcare decisions,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “If Sutton wants voters to support her this fall, she better come up with a better defense than Biden’s. Ohio seniors want to know why she took their choices away.”

Joe Biden waved off serious allegations against his party’s failed agenda as, “malarkey” and “that’s a bunch of stuff:”

“Biden’s antics — he chortled throughout the debate, grinned through many of Ryan’s answers, and peppered his rhetoric with signature idioms like ‘malarkey’ and ‘that’s a bunch of stuff’…” (Eli Stokols, “On debate stage, Biden offers the energy, emotion Obama lacked, FOX 31-Denver, 10/11/2012)

Several doctors and patient groups foresee the Democrats’ unelected board of government bureaucrats stripping seniors’ access to care:

“The Independent Payment Advisory Board, created under the health care law to help control Medicare costs, lacks flexibility to do much more than cut provider payments that would lead to a reduction in access to care…” (Ralph Lindeman, “IPAB Would Reduce Access to Care, Witnesses Tell Ways and Means Panel,” Bloomberg,3/7/2012)
