open mouth, insert foot
So if David Gill had a dollar for every time that he put his foot in his mouth by now he would be richer than Warren Buffett. The latest gaffe comes as David Gill is forced to eat his words over his promise to not take any corporate money for his campaign. Gill claims he would “not take one penny” from special interest groups funded by corporate money and even bashed his primary opponents for taking help from the DCCC. But low and behold Gill is now gladly taking money from the DCCC to fund his campaign ads.
Gill said, “My opponent, anointed by the DCCC, is at least indirectly corporate funded, because, when you go to the DCCC website, and see who is putting money into the DCCC, it’s Lockheed Martin, it’s Goldman Sachs, it’s Morgan Stanley, it’s CitiGroup.” (PDAIllinois Interview, January 28, 2012)
Looks like it only takes a couple bucks for David Gill to change his positions. Gill is proving to be a say and do anything to get elected politician. After the Susan situation I guess this is just par for the course.
NRCC Statement: “David Gill has a history of being dishonest with Illinois families. The one thing voters know for sure is that David Gill has no problem selling himself out for political gain and he will do the same to Illinois families if sent to Congress.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Katie Prill
