stop the press conference

October 18, 2012

At last night’s debate, David Gill was having some serious issues. We won’t get into the fact that he was dishonest about his stance on healthcare and taxes but today we will just focus on David Gill’s hypocritical 180 flip on corporate cash. Gill claimed he would “not take one penny” from special interest groups funded by corporate money and even bashed his primary opponents for taking help from the DCCC.

Gill said, “My opponent, anointed by the DCCC, is at least indirectly corporate funded, because, when you go to the  DCCC website, and see who is putting money into the DCCC, it’s Lockheed Martin, it’s Goldman Sachs, it’s Morgan Stanley, it’s CitiGroup.” (PDAIllinois Interview, January 28, 2012)

But now, Gill is gladly taking financial help from the DCCC. This is a move that raised eyebrows yesterday amongst political pundits and Illinois families.

At last night’s debate, Gill was asked about his latest hypocritical move, and what was Gill’s response? He stopped his press conference and asked his DCCC aide to give him an answer. I am not making this stuff up. Watch this video.

NRCC Statement: “The minute David Gill opens his mouth is the minute Illinois families know he is being untruthful. This latest moment of hypocrisy is beyond the pale and another example of why Illinois voters will reject this phony politician on Election Day.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Katie Prill
