House Republicans Select Congressman Greg Walden as Next NRCC Chair

WASHINGTON – National Republican Congressional Committee outgoing Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) and incoming Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statements regarding Congressman Greg Walden’s election as NRCC Chairman for the 2014 cycle:

Incoming Chairman Greg Walden:

“Under Chairman Sessions’ leadership at the NRCC, House Republicans have won the two biggest majorities since World War II. I have big, Texas-sized boots to fill, but as Pete’s deputy for the last four years, I’ve helped implement a shared vision for the NRCC and now seek to build on that foundation.

“Each election cycle brings new opportunities and challenges, and 2014 is no different. Republicans have sound proposals to grow American jobs, bring accountability to government and help all Americans improve their lives. As Eagle Scouts, Pete and I have lived by the philosophy of leaving your campsite better than you found it. And that’s what I will do as NRCC Chairman.”
