6 Suggested Topics For Obama’s Dinner With House Democrats
President Obama is back on his “bipartisanship dinner tour” tonight.
His next stop…
It appears President Obama’s idea of “reaching out” involves dinner with Nancy Pelosi—the congressional leader recently named the least liked member–and liberal leaders in the House of Representatives.
I guess that it’s no surprise that Obama is sitting down with Pelosi and friends today. The only people he’s seemed to unite in Washington is the left with the far-left. That’s how he passed ObamaCare, the stimulus, and tried to push through cap-and-trade.
Since President Obama made taking back the House his number one goal, it’s fair to assume they’ll be seeing a lot of each other in the next year. Remember Obama made his first call after winning reelection to DCCC Chair Steve Israel and has taken an active role in recruiting Democrat candidates and raising money. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said Obama seems to be “obsessed” with taking back the House in 2014.
Look, we here at the NRCC understand that work dinners can get a little awkward. Here’s some suggested topics of conversation.
1. Nancy Pelosi
These two can talk about President Obama’s wish to get Pelosi back into the Speaker’s chair “pretty soon.”
2. Steny Hoyer
Obama and Hoyer can talk about their mutual love of raising taxes. Remember, it was Hoyer who said our country has a “paying-for problem” earlier this year.
3. Steve Israel
Obama proudly cut Medicare as part of his signature government takeover of healthcare. DCCC Chairman Steve Israel trumpeted this “achievement” on CNN earlier this year.
4. Chris Van Hollen
What do Chris Van Hollen and President Obama have in common? They both introduced budgets this year that will never, ever balance.
5. Rob Andrews
Maybe Obama can chat with Rep. Rob Andrews about his recent ethics troubles. Andrews is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for paying for a family trip to Scotland with campaign funds.
6. Joe Crowley
We already know President Obama doesn’t have a bad voice. Meanwhile, Joe Crowley isn’t a bad guitar player. As evidenced here when he makes Nancy Pelosi dance awkwardly for 4 minutes. I smell a band forming…
