FLASHBACK – Dems In 2012: “[T]he American People Are In Love With ObamaCare.”

One of the great things about sports is to look back at bold predictions and see how right (or wrong) they end up being.

For every famous sports prediction—take Joe Namath’s Super Bowl III guarantee—there’s Bobby Riggs guaranteeing he’ll defeat Billie Jean King or that Ryan Leaf is a “can’t miss” NFL prospect.

The same is true in politics.

Let’s take a look at Democrat James Clyburn just last year. The Supreme Court had recently found ObamaCare constitutional and Democrats were riding high.

Clyburn told Politico, “Irrespective of what those people on the editorial pages are saying, the American people are in love with Obamacare.”

In love with Obamacare?

Think again.

A recent Kaiser Foundation poll found that just 35 percent of Americans have a positive view of the law. While a Rasmussen poll has that number shooting up to a robust 39 percent.

There has also been a slew of stories in recent weeks talking about how nervous Democrats are to run on the law.

With the disastrous implementation of this government boondoggle, it’s really no surprise. Premiums have shot up by $3,000 a family, which even Democrats like Kathleen Sebelius and Jackie Speier have admitted. To top it all off, it’s even added $6.2 trillion to the deficit.

Maybe Clyburn and Democrats should take a lesson from Bobby Riggs or Ryan Leaf: take it easy with those bold predictions.
