NRCC Announces New Women’s Initiative: Project GROW

Effort to Encourage Women Involvement Announced at Joint Event

 Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee announced the creation of a brand new women’s initiative – Project GROW.  This effort, led by NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC), will be directed by Republican Members of Congress who will work to empower, engage and encourage female candidates and women voters.

Project GROW is part of joint effort by six national Republican Committees to encourage and promote women candidates and female voters across the country. Under the banner “Women on the Right Unite”, the NRCC joined the Republican National Committee, the Republican Governors Association, the National Republican Senatorial Conference, Republican State Leadership Committee and the College Republican National Committee in a press conference this morning to announce each committee’s commitment during the next election cycle and beyond.

“The NRCC’s Project Grow will focus on various sectors including recruitment, messaging, polling, training for candidates, localized field events, fundraising, a strong digital presence and harnessing the power of data to increase female voter participation,” said Congresswoman Renee Ellmers. “I am very excited to be a part of this long term effort to grow the remarkable group of women Members we have in the House as we work to expand our House Republican majority.”

Along with NRCC Chairman Greg Walden, 10 female members of the House Republican conference attended the event.

Additionally, the Committee has launched a website with more information about Project GROW. The site can be viewed at www.NRCCProjectGROW.org. The program and its initiatives will be officially launched at the end of July.
