In Iowa, Health Insurance Office Shuttering Thanks to ObamaCare

July 11, 2013

Another day closer to 2014, and across the country more jobs have been lost thanks to ObamaCare. CFB_rgb_150

This time, in Iowa, Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield said that it will be closing down its Sioux City office due to the new restraints and regulations imposed upon their business thanks to the health care law.

Wellmark, Iowa’s largest health insurer, attributed the decision to the “ever-increasing number and complexity of federal regulations, mandates and the rising costs associated with these changes.”

According to the Sioux City Journal, the closing comes just a year after the insurance company nearly doubled its workforce and renovated their offices at the Sioux City location.

Over 100 employees are going to be losing their jobs at the start of 2014 because of the law’s complex and burdensome regulations, even though a Wellmark spokeswoman said that these employees have “done an outstanding job.”

So let’s get this straight. A health insurance company is shuttering its doors because of the health care law? It seems that there is no end to ObamaCare’s disappointments.
