California Congressman Scott Peters: The Artful Dodger

By now, I’m sure you’ve seen the recent developments regarding the Mayor Bob Filner scandal – and it’s not pretty.

A number of San Diego’s public officials have called on him to resign following the damaging allegations – and still missing from the list is Congressman Scott Peters. What’s the hold up?

Peters issued a statement yesterday regarding Filner’s behavior, saying “I look forward to a full airing of the facts. If these accusations are proven true, Mayor Filner will face real, tough and serious consequences.”

Okay, so now that we’ve heard the facts and Filner’s admitted to the inappropriate and damaging actions, it’s time for Peters to fully condemn his behavior and call on him to resign. Will he?

Filner should be ashamed, and Peters should take a stand and finally admit that his pal and endorsement companion isn’t a good fit for San Diego.
