NRCC Chairman Greg Walden’s Statement On Rep. Rodney Alexander’s Retirement Announcement

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement today following Congressman Rodney Alexander’s (R-LA) announcement that he will not be running for re-election in 2014:

“Rodney has been a tireless and dedicated advocate for Louisiana families for over a decade. As a native of the Fifth District, and a veteran of the Air Force Reserves, Rodney knows first hand the concerns of his constituents and what’s most important to our nation.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rodney has always worked to ensure common sense policies and fiscal responsibility are prioritized in the halls of Congress.

“I wish him and his family the best of luck as they take this next step, and thank him for his service to our country. I look forward to keeping the Fifth District in Republican hands in 2014.”
