What do Jimmy Fallon, Honey Boo Boo, Napoleon Dynamite’s brother Kip, Ron Burgundy, Dwight Schrute, and GloZell all have in common? Together, they capture the highs and lows of the turbulent journey of the Keystone XL pipeline over the past five years. The application to construct the Keystone XL pipeline was first submitted to the U.S. State Department exactly five years ago on September 19, 2008, and the American people are still waiting for the president to approve this landmark jobs and energy project. The past five years have been a roller coaster ride of emotions as the application to build Keystone XL was submitted, analyzed, rejected, resubmitted and then allowed to languish. It’s time to build the pipeline and get folks back to work.
