This is bad, bad news for House Democrats in 2014
September 20, 2013
FYI… This is bad, bad news for House Democrats in 2014.
Democrat incumbents and challengers are going to be forced to explain this move by the Obama administration. This is about jobs and energy costs – and polling shows that voters get it.
Look for this issue to have an impact in House races coast to coast, but in these places in particular:
- WV-03: Nick Rahall is in the heart of Coal Country, and is already on record voting for massive carbon taxes in Raul Grijalva’s Progressive Budget.
- AZ-01: Ann Kirkpatrick’s district is home to the largest coal plant in the West, which the Arizona Republic called Obama’s “Public Environmental Energy No. 1”
- IL-12: Coal is a major industry in Bill Enyart’s district, and now this home-state president is attacking the very industry his constituents depend on.
- OH-6 and KY-6: Democrats had high hopes of picking up these districts. Good luck now.
Fact is, these Democrats wanted Obama to have the keys the EPA.
What are they gonna do now?
