Votes Against Guaranteeing Veterans’ Benefits Paid on Time, Keeping Memorials Open

In a shocking display of arrogance last night, Rep. Nick Rahall voted against funding for our nation’s veterans and voted to keep them from visiting their national memorials. Yesterday, WWII veterans had a difficult time visiting the WWII memorial due to President Obama’s government shutdown.

“It’s disgraceful that Nick Rahall would put President Obama’s government shutdown ahead of our nation’s veterans,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Nick Rahall is so blinded by his loyalty to Obama, he’s willing to halt veterans’ pay and keep our nation’s bravest from visiting their memorials.”
